HERE ARE THE DETAILS FOR ALL OF YOU (at the request of a viewer)

Who should by this kit!  Almost every Prius Owner!  Why?  Because it increases the battery capacity of the Stock Prius Battery.  The Stock Prius Battery only has enough capacity to move the Prius one mile without the help of the gas engine so you can really benefit a great deal by having one of our kits installed.

Now, if you drive on the highway mostly on Sunday mornings for 100 miles each way, these kits are not for you.  However, on the other hand, if you drive locally, some highway, and some commuter traffic, all in all, many of these kits will help open up savings for you.  For example, recently, I had a client that came to me with his 2010 Prius.   He said, he traveled 10 miles each way to work every day and it took him 30 minutes each way to work get there because of traffic even though it was on a highway.  For this client I recommended a 4kw Add On Kit.  He agreed and we installed if for him.  During the next week, he called me and was so happy he could hardly contain himself.  He explained to me how his MPG calculator just kept going up and up and up from his average at 40mpg to "getting stuck" on 99.9 mpg!!!  The reason?  He should get 20 miles of EV range with the 4kw kit.  That is how to figure out the battery capacity to EV miles on the chart below.

For those that don't know it, KW stands for Kilowatts.  This is a unit of measure of power!  The watts measure found by multiplying Volts, x Amps.  Volts being the relative size of the battery.  Like a 9v battery in a toy or an 1.5v AAA battery for your remote control.  Amps on the other hand are a measure of current.  This is the amount of electricity flowing through the wires.    So for example, if you have a battery with 48v and the appliance is using 200amps, the amount of power that is used measured in watts is 48v x 200amps makes it 9600watts.

Most of these kits from Enginer, operate on 48v and are then travel into a 5000w DC/DC converter that pushes the power up to the pack voltage of the Prius (240v).  This has the effect of putting the additional battery pack and stock Prius pack in "series".  The term Series means that the two batteries increase their energy capacity!!  This is like adding more "gas" to your tank but it is electric power!!!
